Project Description:

The technical and economic study plan for the construction of a purge gas recovery unit of the ammonia unit of the Khorasan Petrochemical Complex is being implemented with the aim of recovering hydrogen from the purge gas of the ammonia unit and reducing hydrogen loss in the production process. If this plan is implemented, the ammonia production capacity will reach 3,817 tons per hour for (Scenario One - Design Mode), which is equivalent to about 30,232.21 tons per year, taking into account 330 days of annual operation, and for (Scenario Two - Actual Mode), it will reach 2,612 tons per hour, which is equivalent to about 20,692.96 tons per year, taking into account 330 days of annual operation.

The selected technology of the hydrogen recovery unit (HRU) is based on membrane separation, which allows hydrogen to be returned to the production cycle.

The economic feasibility studies of the project have been carried out based on a 2-year construction period, a 10-year useful life, assuming 330 days of annual operation, and assuming the use of domestic technical knowledge and the supply of equipment from inside and outside the country.

The implementation of this project, while increasing the efficiency of ammonia production, will reduce feed consumption, improve economic indicators, and increase the profitability of the Khorasan Petrochemical Complex, which will be detailed in the following chapters.
