Project Description:

This project was defined and implemented with the aim of troubleshooting, performance analysis and redesigning the refinery flare network and associated equipment, in order to improve safety, increase reliability and optimize the performance of the flare system. The scope of services included conducting specialized process, hydraulic and safety studies, identifying and rooting out performance problems of new flares, evaluating various operating scenarios and providing engineering solutions to overcome operational limitations and improve the performance of the flare network.

In this project, the performance of key equipment such as Flare Tip, Molecular Seal, Water Seal Drum, Water Seal Pot, Purge Gas System and other related equipment was technically evaluated and the effect of proposed changes on network capacity, pressure distribution, Back Pressure, safety equipment (PSV) performance and refinery operating conditions was investigated using engineering calculations and specialized studies. In addition, the operational capacity of new and existing flares, the possibility of independent and parallel operation of flare networks, management of sent gases under normal and emergency conditions and the process and safety requirements of each proposed scenario were analyzed.

After conducting feasibility studies, the optimal scenario was selected considering the technical, safety, operational and operational requirements and HAZOP studies were conducted for it. Subsequently, the design and redesign of the required equipment, pipelines and accessories were provided along with the preparation of complete engineering documents including process, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, structural and civil documents and drawings for the equipment supply and project implementation.

This project was carried out with the approach of providing engineering solutions based on international oil and gas industry standards, reducing operational risks, increasing the reliability of the flare system and ensuring the safe operation of the refinery under normal and emergency operating conditions.
